It is the most emotionally protective thing in the world to be negative in these situations.

Get blown out - you feel better with an "I told you so"

Get some kind of result - you naturally feel good about it and can brush off being wrong

But if you go big and go positive - you can have your cake and eat it too

I seriously cannot be anything but depressed about the game tonight. Potentially an utter disaster in imminent. But I await to be surprised as I have before.

ironic isn't it, in the 70s and 80s we were everyone's second Favourite team, even with all the hooligan element, and whilst successive owners have desperately tried to re brand us they have instead single handedly managed to make everyone hate us

Goes without saying want us to beat the bin dippers, but then Pelle said that Spurs can win the title.

If we win I hope we don't have to look back and think we won the title for them :-(

I hope West ham win EVERY game, regardless of the consequences.

I believe we still have to play Spurs again, this season. No reason why we can't, hope to dent their title chances then.

Wow you lot are jerking your knees so hard I can only imagine you are trying to shake off your soaking wet knickers.

A few short weeks ago we apparently had the best squad we've ever had.

A couple of bad results and now we can't even muster a bit of optimism for a game we know the players should be well up for.

We could well lose - it does seem the most likely outcome obviously - but we know West Ham have a habit of playing out of their skins for games like these, and when they're in that mood they're capable of beating anyone... which is actually more frustrating in a way as it highlights the inconsitency... but still it should be an exciting game.

Maybe it's because Sussex bizarrely seems to have a high proportion of Liverpool fans!!

"The whole of the country is behind us tomorrow. "

Whilst this would used to be the case I'm not so sure now. Years ago we used to be "everyone's second favourite team" but certainly since the Tevez Saga and definitely since Gold, Brady and Sullivan I sadly notice quite a dislike towards the Club from many I encounter. The Burnley pitch invasions and the reporting from the press about kids having to sit with Burnley players didn't help either and the sad thing is many outside the Club didn't understand what some were moaning about bar being a bit shit!! GS and B really have dragged the Club down.

I desperately want us to win, but I think we will get an almighty hiding. The fact our defence looks ramshackle really doesn’t bode well for playing this lot.

But you never know....

Will lose by at least 3 I'm sure, but I won't bitch so long as there is more effort than the wolves game.

Had a cold since going to that shit which hasn't helped the animosity towards the entire set of lazy cunts.
